The English national spirit with Dutch roots used to be used as medicine and is now the number one trend drink.

Modern medical studies have now been able to prove beyond doubt the medicinal properties of juniper. As researchers at the University of Zagreb discovered in 2005, the aromatic oil in "Juniperus communis" has a bactericidal and fungicidal effect. In 2013, scientists in Egypt also found that juniper oil has life-protecting properties.

Whether you can fight the plague with gin, ward off snakes, or save the world remains to be seen. But it tastes good. At least nobody can deny that.
